Gerhard Kracher, Victoria Ordoñez, Alistair Gardner, Jorge Ordoñez
The bodega Jorge Ordoñez was founded in 2004 by the Ordoñez family from Malaga and the Kracher family from Austria, together with a group of friends and entrepreneurs from Malaga. Perhaps the most novel aspect of this winemaking venture was to enlist the services of world-renowned Austrian winemaker, Alois Kracher, who was the undisputed number one in Austrian sweet wines. He was succeeded by his son Gerhard Kracher in 2008.
At the helm of this most original project are Jorge Ordoñez, one of the most prominent Spanish wine importers in the US, and his sister Victoria Ordoñez, who is the general manager of the winery.
For the 2010 harvest we were joined by New Zealand winemaker Alistair Gardner, an expert in dry white wines, who also assists in other Jorge Ordoñez wineries in Rias Baixas and Valdeorras.
